ASHLEY

SESAR (WPE)

 

A PhD study on “Uncertainty reduction by an ATS inherent aircraft state vector modelling and estimation” is carried out at TUBS in the framework of SESAR WPE. This study has a strong emphasis on future navigation functionalities for the envisaged 4D trajectory management and to other navigation module related projects with focus on TUBS work in ASHLEY WP4.5 advanced studies. The link aims at consolidating the planned work with SESAR goals. The results from ASHLEY will also be exploited to the SESAR work TUBS is involved in.

SCARLETT

 

SCARLETT defined a new generation of IMA components with a view to improve performance and address all types of aircraft. It introduced the breakthrough Distributed Modular Electronics (DME) concept and defined building blocks of the 2nd generation of IMA (IMA2G). ASHLEY will consolidate and integrate the SCARLETT results to achieve demonstration of the most advanced building blocks available today in a whole aircraft-level platform.

TAUPE

 

Reg. Power Line Communications some of the knowledge and concepts developed by HLU, in particular regarding the communication system design and protocol, will be employed in ASHLEY, in particular for the integration of PLC into the RPC/SSPC, which will be then integrated into the Remote Cabinet Resource.

DIANA

 

DIANA will provide Enhanced Applications interoperability through the adoption of “system level” middleware services oriented to data distribution. Data Distribution service (DDS) appears to be a good prolongation of ARINC 653 concepts. These services would be responsible for supporting data and events exchange among applications located on different partitions. DIANA will provide System Modelling at a “platform independent” level of abstraction and taking into account services, such as logbooks, and information exchange “topics”, such as “cabin temperature”.

IDEE5

 

IDEE5 will provide some IMA 2G elements to the ASHLEY project, namely the cabinet housing, Power Supply Modules, AFDX+ switches, Processing Modules, I/O boards, etc.


GEODESIE

 

GEODESIE will provide all its solid foundations to ensure success of the database services middleware applicative layer demonstration on top of the DME platform. Moreover the avionics constraints being well mastered, ASHLEY can envisaged with confidence an extension of the Database services concept to the Operator / Open World domains. 


SYSTAVIO

 

Current Remote Control Electronics (RCE) resources for ASHLEY demonstrator enlarging DME platform capabilities also able to host safety critical functions like high lift application are based on the results of SysTAvio. A first version of a configuration tool to configure a RCE is based on the results of SysTAvio. In ASHLEY the RCE component will be used from SYSTAVIO and adapted for the ASHLEY demonstrator. The tool for developing the configuration will also be used. 


NELA

 

Current Remote Cabinet resources for ASHLEY demonstrator enlarging DME platform capabilities are based on the results out of NELA (FIMATEC). In ASHLEY the cabinet will be used from FIMATEC and extended for the power switching capability. The relevant tools will be reused. 


HIGHER-TE

 

Current concepts could be presented in the demonstrator regarding remote integrated motor control and power electronics for different classes of electrical motors (Remote Motor Power Control Electronics (RMPCE) based on the results out of HIGHER-TE.


EFFESYS -IMONIK

 

Current concepts regarding Remote Control Electronics (RCE) resources enlarging DME platform capabilities also able to host safety critical functions like high lift application are based on the results out of EFFESYS-IMONIK. Adaptation of RDC configuration tool to provide binary for a RCE is based on the results out of EFFESYS-IMONIK.
