AFDX Switch Star coupler for AFDX network. Like Ethernet switches, AFDX switches provide packets forwarding. They have additional features to guarantee the timing and bandwidth allocation of the entire network, using only multicast addresses (Virtual Links). The precise role of the AFDX switches in AFDX networks is defined in the AFDX standard.
